I re-ran my Azalea-Glendale Raptor Route today as the one I did last week
netted a single bird of prey. Today I had:
12 Red-Tailed Hawks
6 Red-Shouldered Hawks
3 Kestrels
1 Merlin
1 Cooper's Hawk
1 Bald Eagle
One of the Red-Tailed Hawks was dark morph with a thinly barred brick-red
tail. I tried to tun it into a Rough-legged Hawk with no success.
I birded Galesville Reservoir afterwards and found a single American Pipit
on the east end's flats. There was also a Pacific Wren feeding near the
shoreline which I found interesting.
