Hi Folks,
I've been hearing Orange-crowned Warblers many places in the past week.
The Yellow-rumped Warblers are getting their spring plumage. Golden crowned
Sparrows are thinking about leaving in the next few weeks....
An opportunity:
While you're visiting all the booths at Earth Day on April 20, take a walk
with Matt Hunter and others down near Umpqua Park and the river to look for
some spring migrants. Bird walks will meet near the Umpqua Valley Audubon
and Migratory Bird display area (there will be a sign) at 11:00 a.m., 1:00
p.m., and 3:00 p.m. and leisurely stroll down through the fairgrounds to
the park and river area. A few binoculars and bird books will be available
for use, but feel free to bring your own. You can walk with us for as long
