Good morning, This is my first posting to this list; please forgive that I haven't introduced myself prior. I got involved in braille late 2007 and have found my special vocation. I love working in this field! Mr. Bell, you are on to something here! I did something similar in my Nemeth code book listing the Unicode, Alt-key, and DUSCI numbers for symbols. It has helped expedite my transcriptions. Regarding what may be more usable, I think a heading for Alt-key entry would be beneficial. Your list has Wordsigns for the Symbol Type Codes, what about Groupsigns? Would that become unruly? And as a Duxbury user, DUSCI numbers would be awesome! Should you need assistance, I can help. Currently the list is displayed in braille dot sequence, which for many is not ideal, especially when searching for a specific print symbol. Consequently to make the list as useful as possible for as many as possible, some fields are being added to assist in sorting, etc.. I'm summarising these here, but would be interested to hear from anyone who spots something which may have been missed, and would help in making the list even more usable. Columns: 1) Braille dots in Simbraille font. 2) Braille dots shown as numbers e.g. 1, 1 2, 1 4 3) The visible symbol - if any 4) Symbol Type Code (See ** below) 5) Number of braille cells 6) Unicode Value - if any 7) Unicode description 8) AKA (Also Known As) ** Symbol Type Codes: B = braille specific C = Currency symbols and similar D = Diacritics G = Greek letters L = Letters M = Math N = Number P = Punctuation S = Shape symbols T = Typeform indicators W = Wordsigns Please feel free to comment.
