Can you advise on what should be used to represent missing letters in a word or
word/s please
Answer
There are two scenarios:
1. If the gaps each represent a single letter to be filled in, such as
* I re-d the book. (one missing letter)
* Her name is S----. (four missing letters)
Then you can use the ordinary hyphen, which translates as dots 36.
2. If the whole word is missing and there is an indeterminate number of letters
to fill in, then you can use the underscore character _ to represent a missing
item, just as you do in mathematics, for example:
* The capital of Hungary is _.
* In _, the last _ was closed.
The underscore character translates in UEB as dots 46,36.
