Question
Please can you explain the new brackets signs. I am a bit confused by all the
different types

Answer
In UEB, all the brackets are based on a pattern of GH for open and AR for
close, using different "prefixes".

So, dot 5, GH is an open round bracket;
Dot 4-6, GH is an open square bracket;
Dot 4-5-6, GH, is an open curly (brace) bracket;
Dot 4, GH, is an open angle bracket, or less-than sign.

Dot 4, 4-6, GH, is a special kind of bracket called an open transcriber note.
Transcriber notes are now used for when the transcriber needs to insert some
text which is not in the original document, to explain something - like
diagram, a table format, etc.

So, the corresponding close brackets are the same, except using the AR sign
instead of the GH sign. So, Dot 5, AR is the close round bracket.
