Hi I have read the item from Betty Sharp re: problem with Vista running slow and as usual Microsoft has some extensive advice:- http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Optimize-Windows-Vista-for-better-performance There is also an article about Vista downloads that might be interesting:- http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows/downloads/service-packs ; I have not used System Mechanic Version 11 so am unable to make any suggestion although I would be a little wary of trying a "freebie" as they nearly always seem to show lots of things wrong with your PC then ask for a credit card to put things right. I was recommended Tune-Up Utilities by a friend and this found quite a number of minor problems, broken links, registry failures and the like and put these right with a click or two. It also helped to identify which programs were slowing down start-up although you can find this through Windows. Tune-up Utilities 2012 for 3 users is £13.97 on Amazon (it says for Windows 7 but will also work on Vista and XP). System Mechanic Version 10 on Amazon seems to be £17.74 for 3 users but for a one year subscription. Bye Ron M :-)
