KEVIN SPIRTAS ON DAYS RETURN
Kevin Spirtas is reprising the role of Dr. Craig Wesley for the first time
since the LAST BLAST REUNION on the DOOL App in 2019 and on the network
series in 2009. His comeback started with a phone call.
“I was in the car late last summer and I saw Marnie’s [Saitta, casting
director] name pop up,” he recalls. “And I immediately knew because they
don’t just call me from that casting office unless there’s something going
on. I knew people were coming back to the show and we said our hellos and
then Marnie said, ‘We’d like to bring you back on the canvas for a while,’
and I said, ‘Great!’ And she said, ‘It’s a great story.’ I mean, why not go
back and have some fun? It’s a blessing that the work is still there for so
many people and I feel grateful for that.”
Once he arrived at the set, Spirtas was reunited with some familiar faces,
including Patrika Darbo (Nancy) and Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe). “We’re like a
family,” he smiles. “I got to see a lot of people and got to catch up with
a lot of people; however, we were doing it through the veil of Covid-19.
We’re not allowed to mingle and not allowed to hang out together. You sit
in your room and find a way to rehearse outside of the studio. But we made
it work and I loved seeing everybody.”
Spirtas did quickly notice some other changes, as well. “They do so much
content in a day,” he says. “That was new to me. I remember having to put
the lines in my head years ago, but not this many and not at this rate! It
was a new muscle to build, but I loved it. And there were some new faces
walking through the makeup room, which was fun to see, as well.”
Of the tale, which is groundbreaking to say the least, Spirtas teases,
“It’s a very uncommon story to see in daytime, but not in the world today.
What’s so interesting about playing this particular turn in Craig’s life is
that it’s not a difficult choice to navigate. What’s amazing to me is that
they were able to create this story out of a 30-year relationship between
Craig and Nancy. We’ll see Craig moving through this story and showing off
his commitment to himself, his peace of mind and his integrity. So that’s
something I’ve really gotten to enjoy playing a lot.”
For the actor, to be back as Craig nearly 25 years after creating him is
significant. “It’s been a good role; it changed my life,” he sums up. “It
changed the trajectory of my life. It brought me into a world of
creativity. At the time, I was being acknowledged again after having not
worked for so long and I am so appreciative to everyone at DAYS for that.
I’m thrilled to be back.”

question on the minds of Christopher’s fans is: But where?
On Jan. 24, the handsome actor shared on Instagram a photo of him dressed
in a suit as a makeup artist powdered his face. Christopher, who also
played GENERAL HOSPITAL

Nikolas, simply captioned the photo, “New look in studio.”
The actor took the post down the following day, but while it was up, those
four words set off a firestorm amongst his followers, who immediately
wanted to know if Christopher had returned to work on one of the soap’s
he’d previously called home. The set behind Christopher seemed to be a
stone wall, leading one of his loyal followers to wonder if he was back at
GH <https://abc.com/shows/general-hospital> for a third time, filming
scenes in the Cassadine caverns. Since Marcus Coloma is currently playing
the role of Nikolas, it’s unlikely that Christopher has stepped back into
the part of Laura’s son. There’s also the possibility that the actor was
back on DAYS <https://www.nbc.com/days-of-our-lives>, where he originated
the role of Stefano’s son before the role was recast with Brandon Barash,
Stefan was killed off, and Barash returned as twin Jake.
Granted, in the world of soap operas, anything is possible — so who knows
if Christopher might return to playing one of his previous alter egos (or
even a whole new character!) someday. Unfortunately for soap fans, it
doesn’t seem like that time is now. In an Instagram story, Christopher
shared a photo of him with a group of colleagues, adding the text that
“Sometimes Mondays rock.” That photo was actually Christopher sharing a
post made by actor and writer Ashford J. Thomas, who revealed in his
caption that the group was hard at work on a feature film coming soon.
“Great cast, great crew, great shoot,” wrote Thomas. Christopher’s exciting
new movie role comes just a week after he shared that he moved

Nancy is completely crushed when Craig confesses that he actually has been
having an affair and is in love with another man
Not only is she crushed, but Nancy is also infuriated and unleashes her
rage on her unfaithful husband
Craig and Nancy's crumbling marriage manages to consume Chloe, and a
concerned Brady lends his shoulder to her
As Brady works as Chloe's support system, Belle continues supporting E.J.'s
quest for the truth, despite his sentence
E.J. may need all the help he can get, as he's sent to Statesville for a
decade and runs into a fearsome old foe who once did him deadly wrong
Ava remains dead set on sending Rafe to Statesville, but he has some help
on the outside in the form of Shawn and Nicole
A nervous Nicole shares her Ava theory with Allie, who's more than a little
taken aback that her boyfriend's mom might be breaking bad again
Romantic Roman is all smiles when a lovestruck Tripp presents his plans for
his future with Allie, while Ben stuns Ciara with a sentimental present
Still, Ciara and Ben may soon realize their satanic sufferings aren't
exactly over, as Xander makes a bold move to prove he's over Sarah
Xander's proposal isn't met with the answer he was expecting when Gwen wows
him with a shocking response
Finding his wife nonresponsive, Chad's concern for Abigail intensifies,
especially after receiving a suspicious text
Chad calls on Jennifer to confirm the confounding text and is met with
confirmation that Abigail isn't in Boston
A concerned Chad gets a helping hand from Kate, and together, they attempt
to connect the dots to discover Abigail's whereabouts
