The instructor has said that he will bring the wood. I have asked him to
let me know if there is anything that wants to let me know. As yet I have
not heard anything from him. I assume that he has everything under
controll.

Thanks chaps,
Looks like Ill have to have a tour round the different suppliers.
Chaltons look as though they have the best range of birch ply.
All the rest seem to have different strengths from their websites for the
other timber.
Trouble with the DIY stores is they dont look after the stock and knock it
about leaving damage.
I did buy some hardwood faced ply the other day but its bowed as it wasnt
stored correctly.
Not sure where we are going to be getting stock for the lathe but yandles
have a lot of blanks.

Gordon,
The the nearest place I know who have a sheet cutter are b&q Chippenham.
Wickes I find normally have the best range of sheet in stock.
If you need timber with delivery at a reasonable price try Bradford's,
canal road, Trowbridge, near Lidl.

Dear all,
Where can i buy good timber and boards from in the Trowbridge and
surrounding areas. Im restocking my stores as Ive got a couple of
woodworking projects to do around the house and had ended up losing all
the bits and pieces Id collected over the years in our last house move.
Im looking for good birch ply in various thicknesses also formica like
laminate sheets and other general timber, mostly planned for
constructing shelving units and cupboards. Also with a cutting service
for the larger sheet materials to make them easier for me to work with.
All the usual suspects, B&Q, Wickes hopeless as usual.
Have damaged, bent, warped boards and timber. .
Had "Proper job" shop recommended but they have very little in stock.
Just a few bits of hardboard and thin ply.
Tried google. Either get kitchen fitters, diy stores or too far away
like Yandles, http://www.yandles.co.uk/, a good hours drive away.
Any supplier suggestions?
Gordon
