Parents and scouts:
We will leave for camp Sunday morning. I told the scouts we would meet at
10:00 at the church. We would like to leave by 11:30 at the latest. That
will put us at Walmart and Subway by 12:30. We plan to leave Walmart after
meeting up with our provisional scouts by 1:45 at the latest to ensure we
will arrive at camp just a little earlier than our 2:15 appointment time.
Please bring checks and physicals so that we can make copies on Sunday
morning. Gear will be stowed in the trailer. Class A attire. For those
who didn't take the swim test, please pack a towel and suit in your
carry-on backpack so that during the camp tour, you will be able to change
quickly to take the swim test when you go down to the waterfront.
Wednesday is family night and the annual campfire. Parents usually come up
for dinner and bring Chick fil a. If you cannot make it Wednesday night,
perhaps you can contact another parent who is coming up to camp to ensure
your scout will be able to eat a chick fil a meal back at camp with the
rest of the troop. Your scout can show you around camp, and if you choose,
you can come to the campfire with the troop, or plan to depart as we head
to the campfire. We will be retiring flags after the campfire is over
using the two campfires at the council ring.
