Council’s MBT web page. She has the remainder of the books, and we will get
those to the boys on Monday.
Joel is now signed up for Emergency Prep, I’m talking with Natalie to see if
we have an extra book for that, and if not, I will go pick that up from the
Scout Shop.

Hi Cindy,
Last year the boys borrowed books that already existed but I know that the
books can change. Is it recommended that the families but their own books for
the boys? I think I know the answer but wanted to hear Joe's and yours
opinions on this as I know the books etc can add up.

Merit Badge Trail. For the newly-crossed-over Scouts, and any other
interested Scouts as well, Joe’s wife, Marty, will be teaching the Wood
Carving merit badge sometime in March or April. This will also teach the new
Scouts the merit badge process. I will also start looking into and asking
everyone about becoming merit badge counselors. With summer coming before
long, it would be a great time to keep the Scouts busy working merit badges.
Joe will send out emails coordinating drivers, etc. when we get closer to Feb
6th, but I wanted to get this out now so you can make sure the Scouts do
their prerequisites and are prepared.
So please do this:
· Check the list below for your Scout’s classes.
· Ensure they have the appropriate Merit Badge handbooks.
· Have your Scout read the prerequisites in the ‘Additional
Information’ image below.
· Ensure your Scout understands they should do any prerequisites
before the first Merit Badge Trail date (Feb. 6th).
· Encourage your Scout to complete all the requirements for all merit
badges by the last Merit Badge Trail date (Mar. 5th). Otherwise, it becomes
much harder to complete a partial merit badge later and get a counselor to
sign it off.
The Scouts should take a spiral notebook with pockets or just a pocket folder
with some small amount of paper to write on, and a pen/pencil. The MB
Councilors typically give the Scouts their contact information, etc.
