This subject came up several years ago on another list............ some guy screaming that his machine would no longer boot. As I recall at about button #42 added to the Quicklaunch he ran out of resources and the machine wouldn't run. It sure is nice to cut boot time but it's kind of irrelevant if the machine won't run once it's booted. All those shortcuts that you have added to the desktop can be easily moved to the Start menu where Windows doesn't have to look for all those "pretty pictures" to load and all your resources aren't consumed by loading a large number of buttons to the Quicklaunch toolbar. IMHO if you have more than six buttons on Quicklaunch you are trading a lot of resources for a small amout of convenience.
