Speaking of Matt Chandler, did you see the article in the New York Times about
the poorly handled child sexual abuse case in their church. Was saddened that,
once again, churches keep getting it wrong. No one is immune.

single women in his church (and his pride in his amazingly smart wife). He
urges them to keep striving to do what God would have them to do and never step
back and settle for a guy that is not man enough/brave enough/godly enough to
want them to stretch to their full potential in Christ. It's pretty cool.

Love this!!If there is one thing that has frustrated me the most in my years of
singleness, that is being told "It's probably because you're too intimidating."
Give me a break. Am I supposed to NOT love and serve God with all my heart? Am
I supposed to be a wimp and just sit around and wait for someone to come
along?? I would totally have wasted the last 20 years of my life if I had done
that!
I'm reading this new book by Elisabeth Elliot's daughter Valerie, and it's
interesting that as Elisabeth and Jim got closer to engagement, he struggled
with feelings of inferiority. He didn't feel like he deserved her. God used
that to reveal areas of pride in his heart. But that wasn't what kept him from
popping the question; it was his commitment to do jungle ministry as a single
man before getting married.
