JOIN THE TPS ENVIRO TEAM!
The Enviro Team is a fun, easy, productive way to be involved, get connected to
the school community, and support your child’s enjoyment and learning.

Come and meet us in the ‘Prep Playground’ on Friday from 3.15-4pm (weather
permitting)
What are we?
We support TPS through some maintenance and development of the grounds and
gardens, caring for the TPS chickens, supporting the FoodWeb program, and
encouraging sustainable practice across TPS.
We are a sub-committee of TPS School Council.
The Enviro Team runs Working Bees, Toddler Gardening, cares for the TPS
chickens, champions waste reduction and recycling initiatives (such as Nude
Food) designs and develops parts of the garden, and inputs into grounds
development.
In recent years we’ve established the TPS Farm area, Native stingless Bee
habitats, installed Farm irrigation, begun fencing and much more.
This year we are developing a ‘Woiwurrung Food Garden’, teaching the TPS
students about Native and Indigenous food plants, planting, growing and using
them. This is thanks to a Junior Landcare Grant.
We are also in the process of turning the Garden classroom shed into a Kitchen
Garden Classroom.
We are a small diverse team who are passionate about improving the outdoor
spaces at TPS in whatever ways we can, big and small.

Ways you can be involved:
1/2 -1 hour a week is enough to
Be part of the TPS Chicken care team
Get some regular weeding done
Support a FoodWeb garden program class
Help water the garden
Maintain our Bee Hotels
Check the composting systems
A little more time:
Help organise Enviro Team activities such as Working Bees
Co-ordinate the TPS Chicken Team
Help with landscaping and garden development works
Building our Kitchen Garden Classroom space, fencing our Farm area
Get involved with The Woiwurrung Food Garden project (many big and small ways)
Support our recycling and waste minimisation initiatives
Maintain and install irrigation to key garden areas
Really get stuck into weeding and gardening!

Whilst anyone can help out with the Enviro Team, if you are skilled in the
following ways please do be in touch.
Sometimes we just need a bit of extra advice:
Arborist, plumber, builder, electrician, landscaper, vet, environmental
scientists, horticulturists, garden educators….
