Hi Warren,

This looks great! Sadly I will be an apology for it though. My colleague,
Allira Storey will no doubt report back all the exciting news… Thank you for
all the organising.

Subject: [townsvillestemhub] Invitation to Townsville STEM Hub planning session
- 15th Nov 2017

Dear Townsville STEM Hub Members,
As you are aware since the STEM Hub Sharing Session in July, we have three very
clear goals associated with the operations of the Townsville STEM Hub:
1.      General Community Engagement
2.      Primary and Secondary Student Skills - inspiration/motivation
3.      Teacher Professional Development
As we have been granted funding for operations over the next year (Inspiring
Australia-QLD Museum Grant of $15,000),  it is time to make sure that we have a
road map of activities for 2018.
To do this we would like you to attend a planning afternoon, Wednesday 15
November from 2pm‐5pm.
Location: To be advised
Outline of Planning Session
We invite you to make a pitch for an event for 2018. The pitch will be
one-minute only and should describe:
*        Title of the event
*        Nominate which Townsville STEM Hub Goal (above) does it align with?
*        Outline of the activity - describe the event and the audience you are
attracting.
*        Who would you collaborate with? Refer to the Australian STEM
Ecosystem. (See Engaging the future of STEM report - p16
https://cew.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Engaging-the-future-of-STEM.pdf#page=16
  )
*        Resourcing required
*        Date of event
*        Leadership - who will lead the project? This has to be a commitment so
the event can go ahead.
Second, everyone will have a chance to vote on each pitch so that we can
shortlist events within the budget.
Third, people align with one of the shortlisted events, form a team and work
with the leader of the group to plan out the event.
Four, report back to the group on how the event will be implemented.
Please RSVP to me
(warren.cheetham@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:warren.cheetham@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>)
 by 5pm Tuesday 14th November.
Regards,
Warren Cheetham
