Hi Folks, kind of off topic but I thought I would ask just in case.
Does anyone have any wirewrap sockets and or 30 gage coloured wire wrap wire?

I’m thinking of building an Apple 1 replica based on Briel Computer’s design,
and will be hand wiring it. ( I have the Back to the Garage book with the
information on the replica 1 ).

I figured the best way to handle hand wiring data and address busses would be
colour coded wire wrap wire (I recently picked up a wire wrap tool).

Incidentally, I recently purchased an Altair 8800micro replica kit from Briel
Computers as well. Check it out on his site, has all the switches, and LED’s
on the front panel, and can be programmed via serial port ( Altair SIO
compatible ).

I’m ordering the wire wrap sockets and wire from Digi-key.ca, if I don’t hear
back in the next day or so, but thought before I put the order in, I would
ask in case someone had some they were not using and would let go at a
reasonable price, and either bring to the next meeting… or I can pick up if you
are in the GTA ☺.

What I need is:

3 40 pin wire wrap sockets
2 28 pin wire wrap sockets
1 14 pin wire wrap socket
1 16 pin wire wrap socket

30gage wirewrap solid wire, blue red green yellow (any colour really)
30gage wirewrap solid wire, any other colour. ☺

I have not received my Altair kit yet, but when built, I would be happy to
bring both the homebrew Apple 1 as well as the Altair 8800micro to a meeting if
there was interest. ☺

Here is a series of video’s on it, on Youtube that covers construction and
programming via switches on the front panel. It will also run CP/M with a
32k upgrade and dual disk emulator for another $99.00 ☺

the device, part 1 and two are unboxing, and soldering. This is part three,
initial turn on, and entering programs…. 5 parts in total ☺ This guy is from
Ottawa and does awesome video’s, he also has a real KIM-1

I will be at the April 16th Tpug meeting either way to renew my membership and
check out the cool stuff being shown ☺

www.brielcomputers.com<http://www.brielcomputers.com> is where the information
schematics etc are for the replica’s.

He also has a Micro Kim and Superboard III replicas. ☺
