Joseph, did you have a bunch of those packages in your software inventory?
I’ve been collecting the Batteries Included software and hardware suite. I know
a few of the original folks that worked there. Apparently I have more than they
do now. 😊

As you may recall, I’m on a mission to archive original C-64/128 productivity
titles from DSI. DSI made the Paperback and Pocket series. The copy protection
was extremely nasty. Back in the day, a SuperCard+ and / or RAMboard plus a
special Maverick copier were required to attempt making a duplicate disk.
Fortunately, SuperCard Pro does a nice job of making archival images and .G64s
that work reliably in VICE.
All of the images I have made are posted on DLH’s Bombjack site. Brian Green of
Particles BBS recently loaned me some pristine original disks that produced
several more clean images, which DLH has now posted. All of the Paperback

Request: If you have any of the following original disks, I would love to
borrow them to make an image. DSI changed the names of the titles from
Paperback to Pocket during v1.20, so both exist, which makes for more disks to
track down.

It’s interesting to me that the 64 versions have been harder to find overall...
With most software that was produced for both platforms, it’s the 128 versions
that are in short supply, since typically fewer copies were made / sold.
And based on the original disks I am still in search of, it seems clear that
Writer was more popular than Filer and Planner, which makes sense, given my
memory of what sorts of productivity tasks most people did back in the day.
