[torontocbm] Re: Superpet Upgrade working, but with issues

The pet part was working before the superpet boards. I think i will take out
new boards, verify that the main board didn't get damaged or anything, then
check the Superpet connections for continuity, then the chips on the expansion.

Could be a bad PIA (UB12) or the 4-to-10 decoder (UC11). Was the "PET" part
working fine before connecting the superpet boards?

Thanks to Steve Gray i have the 16 hz clock connected. i am getting the
beep, but nothing on the screen in 6502 mode. In 6809 mode, i am getting the
main menu, but the keyboard is not behaving properly. When I press b to
start basic, i see the b but nothing happens. the RETURN key and shift do
strange things. i am looking into the 4K character ROM mentioned earlier.
Any other ideas that might be helpful to me?
Thanks for all the help,
Jerry

I don't have my SuperPET handy to check, but according to the schematics you
need to connect the 6502 chip (UB14) pin 35 to UD3 pin 1. Early boards need
a wire but it appears that the last universal dynamic pet motherboards have
a jumper (which seems to be unlabelled, so I don't know where it's located).

hi. i have made the connection to the 16mhz clock, but still no luck. Is
anyone willing to check and provide the chip and pin for this connection?
There are multiple phases, so maybe the standard clock output is not right.

Ok, do you have all the parts?
- two boards (cpu and memory)
- two ribbon cables
- power extender cable
- One or two switches: 6502/prog/6809 and maybe U11/U2 something (forget
exactly)

Connections:
- short ribbon cable connects the two boards together
- longer ribbon cable connects to 8032 board's CPU socket and SuperPET cpu
board
- power extender goes from SuperPET CPU board to 8032 board.CPU
transplanted onto SuperPET board.
-original power cable plugs into SuperPET CPU board
- switch(es) go to SuperPET CPU board

Check:
- Is there a small board in the slot on the memory board?
- Does your 8032 board have the wire on the bottom running from the 16MHz
signal to the cpu socket?
- Does your 8032 board have a 4K character generator rom?
