No worries, can you use my 3.5" notcher? I'm not sure if it can be modified to
allow 5.25" I'll have a look and take pictures for you when I return home in a
few days.

Dan,
Thanks for the explanations but of course I already knew all about this ;)
I never mentioned the Amiga. If I ask for a disk notcher to turn single sided
into double sided, it’s obviously because I’m talking about 5”1/4 disks !
Come on! You have to give me a little credit there ;)
My request is very simple and doesn’t need more explanations. I know what I
need, thanks !

Typically amiga uses 3.5" disks, in this case you do not use a disk notcher,
that will not work on 3.5" disks, it won't make them double sided.
on the contrary, notching a 3.5" will attempt turn turn a low density disk into
a high density disk, this usually does not work.
you do not flip 3.5" disks, the amiga uses both sides automatically, and if you
did so youd erase the contents of the disk, in this case, the game.
your best bet here is grab some old new or used 3.5" floppies, and use those to
store on.
it's never a good idea to alter original disks, you could damage them, even
accidentally, then your game would be gone.
even with using a blank disk to store on, I still recommend using a copy of the
game, the less you use the originals the better.
theres some really great copiers for the amiga as well, there was one I used
that could copy practically everything...

Yes, the user is will need to be able to write on the disk.
I’m looking for a notcher because I have 300 single sided floppy disks that I
need to turn into double sided disks.
The game is four sides.

you're kidding, right?
there are so many copy utilities and programs to copy and remove protections,
such things were a huge market back then.
kracker jax was a big one, maverick and bullseye or the super utilities copier
and parameter disks,
heck even fast hack'em or mr. nybble
or copy utilities, or superkit, disector, the list goes on and on.
if you have your drives cabled you can use stuff like trsckmimic or 21 second
backup or burst bubbler
modern days the xum module with its nibbler.
csdb or lemon or Arnold may have a version without the protection.
I doubt there is any c65 software you cant copy, remove the protection or find
online.
heck you can often load the original and use super snapshot oft times this will
bypass the protection when you load the snapshot.
I've list count of how many copies and utilities there are available for such
use
c64 copy protection may have been difficult when it come out but with the
advent of supercard ihs, or the parallel copiers or the ones with drive ram, or
stuff online, it's all a thing of the past

What I meant was that depending on the method used if the master disk was to be

it should be possible to copy the disk with the protection intact.
but a working copy with the protection removed works just as well

That was indeed quite common in the days when diskettes were plentiful,
software distributed on a write-protected 'master' diskette that you copied to
a 'working' diskette; I've distributed software that way myself.
Of course this does preclude copy-protection...

I need the holes to be square and clean, because it’s for a commercial product.
Hence the reason why I don’t want to do it with round paper holder puncher!

Hi jeremie,
I used to use a hole punch, carefully positioned in the right spot. Not
sure how many you need to punch.
Could probably make a jig to position it if you have a lot to do.

Hi all,

If someone has a hole puncher for sale or is willing to lend it to me
for a few weeks that would be very nice !
BTW, I'd like a puncher that can make square holes.
Thanks a lot :)
