In addition to those rule changes, double hits are now permitted without
penalty.

Subject: [TOMGA] New Rules of Golf
Gentlemen. The USGA and the R&A have issued some new and revised Rules of Golf
effective Jan 1, 2019. Those are intended to speed up play but also enhance
playability. Notably:
--You may lift or move ball to identify it so long as it is replaced in it's
original position.
--Time to look for a ball is reduced from 5 minutes to 3.
--Lateral relief may be taken within 2 club lengths from where the ball entered
the hazard.
--The flagstick may be left in the hole even while putting.
--Impediments in a bunker can be removed and you may sole the club without
penalty.
Please remember our own local rules of lift, clean and place in the fairway and
improving your lie in a bunker.
Yours for good golf,
Randy Martin, Chairman
Rules and Greens
