Doug, Looks good for Polygonia faunus to me; would be the first record in TN in several years, maybe more than a decade. This species was entirely missed during the lep portion of the GSMNP ATBP, although it had been fairly regularly found there prior to the 1980s, albeit never documented via BAMONA. The only TN county currently with a BAMONA record of Green Comma is, interestingly, adjacent Van Buren County. Congrats to David for finding and you for photographing this extremely nice 'fly. David Trently spotted an interesting anglewing during a trip to Bledsoe County today, with Melinda Fawver, Harold Howell, and me. He saw it land on the face of a rock wall across the river, and he was able to direct me to a spot above it where I could lean over and take shaky oblique photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/64825905@N07/6091051383/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/64825905@N07/6091594580/ Is this a Green Comma? ~ Doug
