Hello everyone,
This Saturday is our second West TN count of the season at Meeman-Shelby Forest
State Park. We will meet at the visitor center at 9:30 and count within the
park during the morning. We will have lunch at the Cornerstore Grill, after
which we will go to Eagle Lake for the afternoon. The forecast is for sunny
and a high of 83, but with gusty winds which might inhibit some activity. A
quick survey through the circle a couple of weeks ago yielded 27 species with
good numbers of E. Tiger Swallowtails and Juvenal's Duskywings. Plus, there
was a Lace-winged Roadside-Skipper and a few Phaon Crescents. Please remember
the $3.00 fee to NABA. You may count as long (or as short) as you'd like. We
should be done by 5:00-5:30. Please let me know if you plan on being there.
See you Saturday,
Bart Jones
