Knee High Naturalist: Hungry Birds!
Monday, March 5 or Tuesday, March 6
10-11:30 am 


Cost: $10/child with adult in advance

          $15 at the gate

Ages 3-5

 

Join us as we investigate what birds eat and where they live.  How do they make 
a nest?  What do they use? Hunt for birds with knee-high sized binoculars, then 
make a treat for the birds at your house.   Dress for the weather and bring 
your sharpest eyes to look for nesting birds!  REGISTER

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day:

     Go Green! Hike

     Saturday, March 17, 10 am - noon
     Cost: $7/person in advance, $10/person at the gate


 

Wear your green to search for green  on this almost-spring hike. With no 
shamrocks at Owl's Hill, we will search for four-leaf clovers and look for 
early plants, green frogs and other signs of spring. Fun for the whole family.

     Free the Trees 

     Saturday, March 17, Noon - 3 pm; no fee

      

Help remove invasive plants hindering the growth and beauty of native 
trees. Dress for the weather and outdoor work; bring gloves, trimmers and other 
brush clearing tools.  Put name on tools. Register to help.

Spring Wildflower Walks
Tuesdays from March 20
1-3 pm
$7/person in advance $10/person at the gate

 

Rue Anemone, Trillium,

Bluebells - Middle Tennessee wildflowers are remarkable. During  this lovely 
season,  the Owl’s Hill flower, tree and butterfly  specialists lead weekly 
Tuesday afternoon hikes.  Cameras and binoculars are welcome.    Dress for the 
weather; wear sturdy walking shoes.  Both groups and individuals may register 
for these hikes; there is no minimum group fee; however we do limit it to 
adults. Walks begin promptly at 1 pm. Reservations

Spring Break Fun

 

Enjoy a Spring Break vacation right here in Middle Tennessee with activities at 
Owl's Hill, April 2-6. Each program is designed for families although some have 
suggestions for the appropriate age. All children must be accompanied by an

MONDAY - Ridgeline Picnic, 11 am - 1 pm. Stash lunch in a pack and hike up the 
South Ridge.



TUESDAY - Play and Picnic, 11 am - 1 pm. Visit the Owl's Hill orchard for a 
relaxing lunch.


WEDNESDAY - Compass Class, 1 - 4 pm. Learn compass and orienteering basics.


THURSDAY - Play and Picnic, 11 am - 1 pm. Visit the Owl's Hill orchard for a 
relaxing lunch.


FRIDAY - Where is Peter? 10 - 11:30 am. Search the meadow and orchard for 
bunnies, large and small.
