I think you take the prize for first butterfly of 2016 in our area. I'd hoped
to find one on the Hiwassee count on the 2nd, but it was a bit too cold.

Libby Wolfe and I were birding at Standifer Gap Marsh on January 5 when a
Clouded Sulphur fluttered across the field in front of us and plopped down once
in the grass before continuing on. These are unusual times. The temperature
was in the 40s but there were Bradford Pear blossoms. I think this is one
confused butterfly.
