After reading Steve's post from a couple days ago, about species of
butterflies
that have been recorded in the most Tennessee counties, I put together a list
of
those common butterflies that are still needed in east Tennessee. You can find
a
link to it here:
http://avianpursuits.com/Butterflies_Main.html
Look for the link in a box on the left side of the page.

Some of us have been actively foraying into various counties working on adding
records - and we're already knocked all those more common species off the Not
Seen list for Meigs County.
I would like to challenge us to document all of the species on this list before
the end of next year's butterfly season. It should not be too difficult, as
these are the more commonly encountered species. Doug Bruce, Audrey Hoff,
Harold
Howell and I plan to get out to Claiborne County tomorrow. I'll let you know
how
well we do.
