[TN-Bird] strange glass behavior

I have no explanation, but in response to the titmouse mirror behavior, I
have had two different species of birds seemingly "sparring" with their
reflections in the glass of my bathroom window for the past two springs.
Last year it was a cardinal and this year a robin. Females in both cases.
They are extremely persistent, going at it for minutes at a time (often
waking me up on the weekends). What on earth could this be about? It would
seem to make more sense if they were males.
