A dark phase RL Hawk was seen last week on the N side of TN 840 just inside the Rutherford County line (Steve Satterfield). Several attempts to relocate the bird have been unsuccessful. Also in Wilson County off 840 at least one Loggerhead Shrike was seen. Over the past 10 years, this bird has virtually disappeared from the midstate. At the Children's Discovery House in Murfreesboro, about 6 Rusty Blackbirds have taken up residence, and can generally be seen from the boardwalk across the marsh. Also seen there last week were Winter Wren and E Phoebe.
