[TN-Bird] nesting signs - Knox

Just a quick note on some signs of nesting here in Knoxville...
aside from all the singing and cavorting.  Saw an American Crow
carrying sticks off of Lovell Rd just north of I-40 on Sunday
(8 March) and this morning (9 March) had a Carolina Chickadee
busy excavating a hole in a snag that, to me, looks too small in
diameter for a nest cavity but I guess it knows what it is doing...
even though there's a couple of nice nest boxes like, right over
there.  They've worked for you in the past but go right ahead
and knock yourself out digging out that hole.
