8 May 2013 Kingsport, TN In the course of birding several sites in Kingsport, I checked behind Riverfront Seafood for night-herons, etc.; but, to my amazement I saw the female HARLEQUIN DUCK. The last report from local or visiting birders had been 13 Mar. However, Scott Somershoe received a photo with a late Apr date stamped on it. Local birders check this site often for a variety of birds, but had not seen the Harlequin since mid Mar. Go figure!
