Late this afternoon (3-10) at South Holston Lake, east of Bristol:

Red-necked Grebe: 15 (3 at Musick's Campground, where seen yesterday
& 12 more visible from the dam). This total may be a new state high
count (somebody correct me, if wrong) -- an astonishing number this far
south & inland.

Also seen were 11 Pied-billed Grebes & 18 Horned Grebes (but no Eared
Grebe), 8 Com. Loons, a cormorant, 1 Bonaparte's Gull & about 400
Ring-billed Gulls, 2 Red-br. Merganser.
