Late this afternoon (3-10) at South Holston Lake, east of Bristol: Red-necked Grebe: 15 (3 at Musick's Campground, where seen yesterday & 12 more visible from the dam). This total may be a new state high count (somebody correct me, if wrong) -- an astonishing number this far south & inland. Also seen were 11 Pied-billed Grebes & 18 Horned Grebes (but no Eared Grebe), 8 Com. Loons, a cormorant, 1 Bonaparte's Gull & about 400 Ring-billed Gulls, 2 Red-br. Merganser. ################### Rick Knight Johnson City, TN rknight@xxxxxxxxxxxxx =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to sign your messages with first and last name, city (town) and state abbreviation. ----------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, simply send email to: tn-bird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ----------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send email to: tn-bird-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TN-Bird Net is owned by the Tennessee Ornithological Society Neither the society(TOS) nor its moderator(s) endorse the views or opinions expressed by the members of this discussion group.
