On a drive yesterday evening from Portland TN across 52 to Orlinda and turning
north on 49 and driving about ten miles into Kentucky, I saw 69 Common
Nighthawks. The first 15 were just west of Portland, I saw 3 in Orlinda, 26
about a mile north of Orlinda, Making 44 of them in Tennessee. Moving on into
KY I saw two more groups, fourteen in one and 11 in the other for a total of 69
in about 40 minutes.
