Chris, I don't know if they still do, but when I lived in Nashville years ago, there was a chimney in Melrose (8th Ave/Franklin Rd.), where the old Melrose Theatre used to be, that the migrating Chimney Swifts would swarm and roost in over night. It too, was a sight to behold. A tornado of swifts. Anyway, check it out, or other chimneys where you live, and you might observe this behavior. There are two locations in Clarksville where this happens. One is across the street from the Montgomery County Library on Pagent Ln., the other, is at an old abandoned factory by the Cumberland River on Riverside Dr. Did You Know: There are a group of people who build chimneys for no other purpose but to provide nesting habitat for Chimney Swifts. A pretty cool idea in my book. Take a minute, to be out in it.
