After reading Georges and Richard's email re: the Fox Sparrows, I refilled
the feeders and tossed a cup of seeds out on the snow hoping to lure a few
more birds. Within minutes a small flock of red-winged blackbirds and
brown-headed cowbirds fell out of the sky and right behind them, a Fox
Sparrow. He is gorgeous against that ultra-white snow (~ 5" accum. here
just south of Lebanon). And he is still out there scratching and flitting
about.
I don't like the snow, but it sure makes for good feeder watching.

It took a few hours, but a Fox Sparrow came in with the snow here in south
Nashville also. Just the one so far; remains to be seen if more join it.
Had 3 or 4 at last years snow event.

today. For the last three years and on the heels of any winter snow storm,
I am happy to report a single Fox Sparrow showed up to my feeders
a Fox Sparrow shows up. Today’s bird does not appear as red as last years
but the lighting is dark so not sure if same bird. I have come to rely on
one showing like clock work. A treat to me none the less.
