She was again headed roughly west from here. I am going to bring my camera tomorrow; if she keeps coming by this close I should be able to get some good pics. It's conceivable to me that this is the same bird being reported from Vanderbilt, since Vanderbilt is only a few miles west of here, although that bird was reported initially as an adult and this one is clearly an immature (but, I have the benefit of relatively close eye-level binocular views). -- Chris Sloan chris.sloan@xxxxxxxxxxx Nashville, TN Chris, The peregrine that I had on my window sill at St. Thomas in January of 2007 was an adult..............less than 10 feet away from me. That's within range, or so I understand, of yours and the one at Vandy. Maybe we have a family (or families) somewhere??? I sort of had the feeling that mine might have a nest on St. Thomas' roof or something. I still get both adult and immature birds at my house in the Charlotte Park section of West Nashville now and then. Since lots of rock pigeons use my feeder, I get a fair share of peregrines and have for quite a few years. I try to report them every time I see one, but I may have forgotten to mention one that came by to check the deck just before Christmas. It was a busy time. They like to perch on a neighbor's tree at the side of my house then "sneak in and snatch" a pigeon from the deck and be gone before I even know they are around, much less in time for me to grab my camera off the dining table and "shoot 'em."
