I have a pair of these that I carry backpacking:

http://www.nikonsportoptics.com/en/nikon-products//binoculars/prostaff-8x25-atb.html

They are a decent price and good enough quality to keep as a second pair.

Hello TN birders,
I would deeply appreciate opinions on the best light-weight birding binoculars.
They are to be used for travel, sometimes involving backpacking.

I’m not retiring the old Leicas, but in certain instances they simply add too
much weight.

If you prefer, feel free to use my personal email address for responses.

Thanks in advance.
