After doing some studying last night about the Dark Morph Hawk Ken Leggett and I had seen yesterday on the Great River Road south of 79 I felt like I had not seen enough of the bird to be sure of the identification. I went back this afternnon to see if I could relocate the bird and I was able to find a dark morph hawk in the same area. Was able to get a better look and did see the red in the tail. It flew like the bird we had seen yesterday, and was in about the same location. I feel that it is the same bird and that instead of a Dark morph Rough legged that it is a Dark Morph Red tail Hawk. Sorry for any confusion. The bird was seen on the Greak River Rd in Lake Co. Tn about 1/4-1/2 of a mile south of hwy 79.
