The weather fronts have brought big change in our yard this past ten days.
October 23 was the last date for Rose-breasted Grosbeaks. Two Ruby-throated
Hummingbirds, one female and one immature male, continued until after feeding
last Sunday morning and then moved on South.
During the same period we've had several first of the fall arrivals - Brown
Creeper, Dark-eyed Juncos, Chipping Sparrows, Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers,
Ruby-crowned Kinglets, and today a Purple Finch. Numbers of White-throated
Sparrows, Yellow-rumped Warblers and Northern Flickers have increased
significantly.
