During our July Big Day on Saturday (20th), Jay Desgrosellier and I found an immature WOOD STORK at White's Lake in Dyer County. It was perched up in a tree behind the observation tower, which is on a spur road that turns south off of the south perimeter road. 100+ WHITE PELICANS were feeding in tight circles at Everett Lake, also in Dyer. Because our route included the Ensley pits, and because Jeff Wilson had left me a voicemail on my cell phone, we were both fortunate enough to see the REEVE found earlier by Jeff. It was a state bird for me and a lifer for Jay. More on the Big Day effort later when Jay posts his narrative write-up.
