For those of you who may have missed the announcement, due to likely
inclement weather conditions, the Wheeler winter meeting boat trip
scheduled for all day Friday has been postponed until Sunday afternoon.
Damien Simbeck (tnbarredowl@xxxxxxx) asks that anyone interested in the new
date contact him. The cost is reduced to $25 per person for the 1:00 PM to
dusk trip and a minimum of 12 people is still required. If you did not sign
up for the Friday trip, you may still sign up for the Sunday afternoon
trip.
Also, because we are facing the possibility of snow and ice in many parts
of the state Friday and Saturday, we are hoping to get an estimate on the
number of people planning to attend this weekend, especially the guided
tour Saturday morning provided by Dwight Cooley of the Wheeler Refuge
staff. Although we have no formal meeting, and therefore nothing to
"cancel", Cyndi and I would like to provide the Wheeler staff with an
estimate of those planning to attend. So, if you are still planning to make
the trek to Wheeler this weekend, please send a private e-mail to us:
