September 11, 2007 Washington County: Powell Road Catching Rick Knight's post of shorebirds on Powell Road late this afternoon, David Kirschke and I headed there after work. We arrived shortly before 6:00 and stayed until a little after 7:00. We were joined for part of the evening by Larry McDaniel and Rick Knight. Shorebirds were remarkably plentiful for northeast Tennessee. I tallied the following: Killdeer (2) Lesser Yellowlegs (18) Willet Ruddy Turnstone Semipalmated Sandpiper (2) Western Sandpiper (2) Least Sandpiper (11) Pectoral Sandpiper (25) Stilt Sandpiper Thanks, Rick, for alerting everyone to the fallout.
