A 1st year juvenile Whooping Crane was sighted this morning, 27Dec07 at 9:57 AM, in Franklin County, Tn. by Dale Swant and Ruth Luckado. The field is bounded by the following roads: Dabbs Ford, Lakeview Trail, and Monroe Floyd. There were about 200 Sandhill Cranes flying back and forth from field to field, and the "Whooper" was with a group of about 40. It had a red over green band on its right leg, and a green over white band on its left leg--have reported it to Operation Migration. Dale took numerous pictures.
