Craig Watson and I viewed two different groups of White-winged Scoters on
Douglas Lake in Jefferson County. The first group was 4 females and seen from
the RV park at Lake View Grill (which is closed). The second group was one male
and 4 females and viewed from a pulloff on Hwy 139 about .3 mile east or
upstream from Lake View Grill in a shallow slough.
Also present were 250 Mallard, and varying numbers of Lesser Scaup, American
Wigeon, American Black Duck, Northern Shoveler, and Northern Pintail.
