Even in a brief and much needed drizzle this morning we had some good birding from our deck. Two first-of-the-fall White-throated Sparrows jumped out of our biggest brush pile early in the morning and were still feeding when we went inside at 8:30. And when the rain stopped about 9:00 we had a nice movement of warblers with a male American Redstart, a female Black-throated Green, a Northern Parula, and another first-of-the-fall Yellow-rumped. The four remaining Ruby-throated Hummingbirds continue and there are still at least 15-20 Rose-breasted Grosbeaks feeding on the Pokeberries and our Sunflower seed along with a couple of Indigo Buntings and that flock of Red-winged Blackbirds. And that sweet little Red-breasted Nuthatch continues to delight us for the fifth day.
