As part of a Natural Resource Management class at UT Martin, I am studying
the distribution of the two White-throated Sparrow color morphs in
Tennessee. White-striped White-throated Sparrows have a distinct white
median head stripe (and usually distinctive black stripes on the head).
Tan-striped White-throated Sparrows have a tan median head stripe (and
usually brown, not dark black, stripes on the head). If you still have
White-throated Sparrows in your yard and could make a count of the maximum
number of each color phase (white-stripe and tan-stripe) you see in one day
(or at any one time), I would appreciate receiving your numbers. Thank you.
