Plus raccoon pictures (attached). :-)
I saw two on the backside of the Refuge. After scurrying off the dike into the
woods (after examining me for a bit), one climbed a tree.

Subject: [TN-Bird] White's Mill Wildlife Refuge--Blount County
Today marked the first day that wildlife refuges opened back up to the general
public in Blount County. With bad weather approaching, I decided not to go to
Kyker Bottoms and opted for the much smaller White's Mill Wildlife Refuge. The
most noteworthy sightings were seven American Black Ducks and two Wilson's
Snipe. I also saw a Fox Sparrow, which might not seem like much, but it filled
a missing hole in my Blount County records.
Blackberry thorns were somewhat annoying in a few places, but accessibility was
still pretty good. I can foresee that some areas could become inaccessible in
several weeks if the dikes aren't mowed again by then.
