Hello from the Charlotte Park section of West Nashville about four blocks east of the Cumberland River's old Cleece's Ferry crossing to Bell's Bend in Davidson County. Yesterday, at 4:29 PM, a BEE-YOO-TI-FUL white crowned sparrow appeared on my deck and began feeding gregariously as if it was starved to the core. The bird was quite "testy" and not in the mood for interference from the juncos, cardinals, field sparrows, white-throats & mourning doves also feeding there at the time. It fed for several minutes, then flew over to get several sips of water and took off toward the Cumberland River and Bell's Bend. Nice thrill for this old birder, as I rarely see white-crowneds. Cheers & prayers, Dee Thompson Nashville, TN =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to sign your messages with first and last name, city (town) and state abbreviation. ----------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, simply send email to: tn-bird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ----------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send email to: tn-bird-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TN-Bird Net is owned by the Tennessee Ornithological Society Neither the society(TOS) nor its moderator(s) endorse the views or opinions expressed by the members of this discussion group.
