Today, while on my way to check gulls at Arkabutla Lake, I made a short
detour to see if any of the geese I had been seeing had stopped in the fields.
No
luck there but I did get 8 Western Meadowlarks at one of their regular
wintering spots.

I saw large flocks of Horned Larks traveling down the Mississippi River on
Saturday and many flocks in the fields Sunday but no Lapland Longspurs. Harrier
Hawks were seen at 3 locations and all the rice and most of the beans have
been combined.

Good Birding!!!
