To the TN-Bird List: This coming Saturday morning, December 8, I will be offering a two-part program entitled "The Winter Birds of the Warner Parks." Part 1, beginning at 9:00 a.m., will consist of a full-color PowerPoint presentation on the winter birds of the Warner Parks (as the title subtly suggests), preceded by a brief review of bird guides and lists. Whether a beginning or intermediate birder, you will be able to test your recognition skills without being in the least embarrassed. Advanced birders can feel smug with their superior knowledge, but without saying so out loud. Part 2, beginning at approximately 10:00 a.m., will feature a walk in the park to see how many of the winter birds are actually there for us to enjoy. We should conclude by 11:00 a.m., but you are always welcome to stay on and enjoy the natural riches of the Warner Parks. The weather for Saturday looks promising at this point, but Part 1 of the program will take place rain or shine in the warmth of the Warner Park Nature Center, 7311 Highway 100. If you are interested in attending, or know someone who is, please make reservations by calling 615-352-6299 beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, December 4. No charge, compliments of Metro Nashville's excellent system of parks. Edwin S.
