NTOS Field Trip to Bells Bend Park - October 18, 2014 at 7:30 AM 4187 Old Hickory Blvd, Nashville, TN 37218 It's not too early to remind everyone about this Saturday's NTOS field trip to Bells Bend Park in Nashville, TN. Our meeting time and location is 7:30 AM in the Outdoor Center parking lot (4187 Old Hickory Blvd, Nashville, TN 37218), and birders of all ages and skill levels are welcomed to attend. Bells Bend is an outstanding park for sparrows. Their list includes: Song, Swamp, Savannah, Lincoln's, White-crowned, White-throated, Field, and Vesper Sparrows, and more. We will likely encounter a few of these, plus other songbirds in the woods lining the fields. There's also a possibility of finding Marsh or Sedge Wrens in the fields. This outing will likely only last the morning, but feel free to bring snacks and drinks if you wish. Hiking boots are recommended since the grass often gets fairly wet with dew. For further information about Bells Bend click here. Directions from Nashville can be found here. If the weather doesn't look promising, a cancellation post will be sent via the TN-bird listserv on Friday evening. ***Get it on your calendars! The next NTOS Field Trip will be at Wheeler NWR in Decatur, Alabama, on November 8th, 2014. Chloe Walker Murfreesboro, TN http://www.chloesbirdingblog.blogspot.com/
