Lake Co, Tn. Phillippy Pits on Cates landing road off Hwy 78. Was notified yesterday that there are three swans up at Phillippy Pits area. I drove over yesterday in the late afternoon and found them and they were way off to the back of the field near the old duck blind near the tree line.....took a very distant shot but not very useful. Today I went back and they were closer and I had good looks through the scope...I feel that they are Immature Trumpeters...The front of the head and bill slopes down. The black on the face forms a V between the eyes , the tail is low and they are a big bird. The Bill and feet are black. The color on the body of the bird is a moddled yellowish brown and grayish white. Head is dark brownish gray and chin is light color and back of neck is a light brownish color. I do have pictures and will share if anyone wants to see them.
