If y'all would bear with me, I thought that I would throw this one in. It's a
trail camera photo. I use trail cameras to check and see what is roaming
around near the house. It works well for medium to large mammals. (I have
gotten great pictures of things like deer, raccoons, opossum, red fox, gray
fox, coyote, bobcat, beaver, otter, etc.) However, birds don't usually make
for the best pictures, partly because the minimum focus for most trail cameras
is around ten feet. The resolution at that distance isn't good enough when you
try to enlarge pictures of small birds. (I did have a trail camera several
years ago that had a minimum focus of about 18 inches. I think that it was a
factory defect, but I loved it and got some great pictures of small birds.)
Occasionally I get great pictures of medium to large birds such as turkey,
crow, great blue heron, Cooper's hawk, Canada geese, wood ducks, etc. A few
months ago I found a dead squirrel in the road and decided to put it in front
of one of the cameras. I got some great photos of a turkey vulture. A few
days ago I found another dead squirrel and did the same thing. Got this
picture of a red-shouldered hawk.
